Summary

This study tested whether using a person's genetic information to guide surgical wound cleaning (debridement) could improve healing of chronic venous leg ulcers. Researchers analyzed genes and proteins from wound tissue before and after cleaning. The goal was to see if this personalized approach leads to faster healing. The study involved 41 adults with venous leg ulcers.
