First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 09, 2026 · Updated 34 times

Summary

This early-stage trial tests whether genetically modified immune cells (called CTLs) can safely control viral infections like CMV, BK virus, or COVID-19 in cancer patients with weakened immune systems. The cells are designed to attack only the specific virus each patient has. The study involves 30 participants and aims to see if this approach is feasible and safe.
