Summary
This study aimed to see if telling patients and their doctors about a specific genetic risk for kidney disease would lead to better health management. It involved nearly 6,800 adults of African ancestry with high blood pressure. Researchers tested whether early knowledge of this genetic risk led to better blood pressure control and earlier kidney disease detection compared to finding out later.
