Summary

This study aims to find out if certain genetic differences make some people with atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat) more likely to develop a weakened heart muscle (cardiomyopathy). Researchers will compare the DNA of 299 adults with and without this condition. The goal is to better understand who is at risk, not to test a new treatment.
