Scientists hunt for hidden family links to blood cancer

NCT ID NCT03058588

Summary

This study aims to find inherited genetic changes that might make some families more likely to develop certain blood cancers, specifically acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS). Researchers will use advanced DNA sequencing technology to analyze blood and saliva samples from patients with these cancers and their family members, both affected and unaffected. The goal is to identify known and potentially new genetic patterns that run in families, which could improve future risk assessment and understanding of these diseases.
