Summary

This study aims to find the genes that make some people with diabetes more likely to develop serious kidney disease. Researchers are recruiting 100,000 people, focusing on families where one member already has diabetic kidney disease, to compare their DNA. The goal is to understand the genetic causes, which could one day lead to better ways to prevent or treat this common diabetes complication.
