Remote genetic counseling tested to help childhood cancer survivors understand their risks

NCT ID NCT04455698

Summary

This study tested whether providing genetic counseling remotely by phone or video could help childhood cancer survivors access recommended genetic testing. Researchers compared this remote approach to usual care options to see if it increased how many survivors got tested or received counseling. The study also measured whether remote services improved survivors' knowledge about cancer genetics and reduced their distress or depression.
