VA tests if genetic warnings motivate veterans to lower heart risk

NCT ID NCT04178122

Summary

This study aimed to understand if telling veterans about their genetic risk for heart disease would help them manage their health better. Researchers gave genetic risk results to some veterans right away and delayed telling others for six months to see if the early information led to improved cholesterol levels. The goal was to learn the best way to share this type of health information to improve care.
