Scientists dig into DNA to understand troubled Kids' behavior
NCT ID NCT07322055
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study looks at how genes might affect behavior in 200 children aged 7-16 who have been diagnosed with Conduct Disorder or Oppositional Defiant Disorder, some of whom also show callous-unemotional traits (like lack of guilt or shallow emotions). Researchers will compare the children's genetic profiles with their behavior and emotional processing to better understand why some kids develop more severe symptoms. The goal is to improve knowledge, not to test a treatment.
