Summary

This study looks at genetic and biochemical markers in fat tissue from 500 people with severe obesity who are having bariatric surgery. Researchers want to compare tissue from healthy obese patients (no diabetes or other major issues) with tissue from those who have type 2 diabetes. The goal is to better understand what makes some obesity more harmful than others.
