Scientists test One-Time brain injection to slow Alzheimer's

Summary
This is a first-in-human safety study testing a new gene therapy approach for early Alzheimer's disease and mild cognitive impairment. Researchers will use a harmless virus to deliver a protective protein called BDNF directly into the brain of 12 participants. The goal is to see if this one-time treatment can slow brain cell loss and potentially improve memory function.
