First seen Nov 20, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This early-stage study tested a new gene therapy in 2 HIV patients who also had a high-risk lymphoma. The goal was to see if it's safe to add a special anti-HIV gene to their blood stem cells and immune cells before a stem cell transplant. The approach aims to help control HIV while treating the lymphoma, but patients may still need ongoing HIV medication.
