Could a blood test predict if your antidepressant will work?

NCT ID NCT00308893

Summary

This study aimed to find out if a person's genes can predict how well they will respond to a common antidepressant. Researchers looked at a specific gene in 188 adults with major depression who were taking the medication escitalopram. They compared the genes of people who got better after 3 and 6 weeks of treatment to those who did not, to see if the gene was linked to the treatment's success.
