Scientists scramble to unlock genetic secrets of diabetes drug response
NCT ID NCT02087826
Summary
This study aims to understand how specific genes influence how the body processes food and responds to metformin, a common diabetes medication. Researchers are enrolling 1,017 adults to eat a special test meal and take a single dose of metformin, then measuring blood sugar and other markers. The goal is to gather knowledge about genetic differences, not to provide treatment or direct benefit to participants.
