Scientists probe brain tissue to unlock Epilepsy's genetic secrets
NCT ID NCT04917939
First seen Apr 29, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study looks at brain tissue from 10 people with temporal lobe epilepsy and hippocampal sclerosis who are having surgery. Researchers will analyze gene activity in the removed tissue to find clues about what causes the disease and how it progresses. The goal is to better understand epilepsy at the molecular level, not to test a new treatment.
