Double-Pronged attack: new CAR T-Cell therapy targets Hard-to-Treat myeloma

NCT ID NCT06235229

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests a new treatment called GC012F for people with multiple myeloma that has come back or not responded to at least three prior treatments. GC012F is a type of immunotherapy that uses a patient's own immune cells, modified to recognize and attack myeloma cells using two targets (CD19 and BCMA). The trial will enroll 110 participants to evaluate safety and how well the treatment works.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
GC012F (a dual-target CAR T-cell therapy that attacks cancer cells using two markers, CD19 and BCMA)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could offer a new treatment option for patients with multiple myeloma that has not responded to other therapies.
What could go wrong
This is an early-phase trial (Phase I/II) with a small number of participants, so results may not apply broadly. CAR T-cell therapy can cause serious side effects like cytokine release syndrome.
