First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated Jun 23, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study tests a new treatment called GC012F for people with multiple myeloma that has come back or stopped responding to at least three prior treatments. GC012F is a type of immunotherapy that uses a patient's own immune cells, modified to recognize and attack myeloma cells through two targets (CD19 and BCMA). The trial will enroll 110 participants to evaluate safety and how well the treatment works.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
GC012F (a dual-target CAR T-cell therapy that attacks cancer cells using two markers: CD19 and BCMA)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could offer a new treatment option for patients with multiple myeloma that has stopped responding to standard therapies.
What could go wrong
This is an early-phase trial (Phase I/II) with only 110 participants, so results may not apply to all patients. CAR T-cell therapy can cause serious side effects like cytokine release syndrome.
Conditions
