Fasting time before C-Section: does it matter?
NCT ID NCT07513675
First seen Apr 30, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026
Summary
This study looked at 90 pregnant women having planned C-sections to see if the length of fasting (6-8 hours vs 8-10 hours) changed their stomach volume. Researchers used ultrasound to measure stomach contents and checked for nausea and vomiting after surgery. The goal was to find the safest fasting time to reduce risks during anesthesia.
