First seen May 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tests if using ultrasound to see how full a child's stomach is before anesthesia (given outside the operating room) can improve safety. About 200 children aged 0-18 will have their stomach checked with ultrasound to measure fluid levels. The goal is to reduce the risk of complications like vomiting or breathing in stomach contents during anesthesia.
