Ultrasound before C-Section could prevent rare but deadly complication

NCT ID NCT07335172

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study will use bedside ultrasound to measure stomach volume in 80 pregnant women before planned cesarean sections. Because pregnancy slows digestion, there is a risk of stomach contents entering the lungs during anesthesia. The goal is to see how fasting time and type of liquid affect stomach volume, so doctors can better prevent complications and improve safety.
