Healthy volunteers help uncover best oxygen delivery route

This completed study measured oxygen and carbon dioxide levels in the throat of 14 healthy volunteers while they received oxygen through a nasal cannula, face mask, or standard non-rebreather mask. The goal was to understand how different delivery methods affect gas composition in the hypopharynx, especially in conditions like open-mouth breathing. The findings may help improve oxygen therapy for patients with respiratory failure.
