Can planting a garden cure loneliness? nursing home study tests Nature's power

NCT ID NCT06311825

Summary

This study tested whether a gardening program, called horticultural therapy, could help reduce feelings of loneliness and improve life satisfaction for older adults living in a nursing home. Researchers worked with 54 residents over 60 years old who did not have dementia. They compared a group doing gardening activities to a group that did not, to see if connecting with nature and plants made a difference in how people felt.
