First seen Apr 04, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study tested whether a gentle electrical current applied to the scalp at a specific frequency (40 Hz) could strengthen brain waves linked to memory in 30 healthy adults aged 50-80. Participants performed a memory task while receiving stimulation to different brain areas. The goal was to learn how to safely boost these brain waves, which are often weaker in people with Alzheimer's disease.
