Glasses and headphones trial aims to unstick Parkinson's Patients' feet

NCT ID NCT06295458

Summary

This study is testing whether daily exposure to a special flickering light and sound, called gamma sensory flicker, is safe and can help reduce 'freezing of gait' in people with Parkinson's disease. Freezing of gait is when a person's feet feel stuck to the floor, which is a major cause of falls. For about 7 months, 24 participants will wear special glasses and headphones at home for one hour daily to see if this non-drug approach can ease this difficult symptom.
