Can a common antibody treatment tame deadly inflammation in critically ill children?

NCT ID NCT04850456

First seen Mar 18, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study looks at whether giving gamma globulin (a blood product with antibodies) can help children in the ICU who have severe infections and a dangerous overreaction called an inflammatory storm. The goal is to see if it lowers the risk of death and shortens time in the ICU. Researchers will compare children who received gamma globulin to those who did not, using data from past hospital records.
