Video games vs. weight: can gaming help men shed pounds?

NCT ID NCT05408494

Summary

This study is testing whether a weight loss program designed like a video game can help men lose weight and keep it off. 228 overweight or obese men will use a mobile app for 12 months; some will get a standard version, while others get a gamified version with team competitions and brain-training games aimed at improving self-control around food. Researchers will track weight, diet, and activity to see if the game-like features make the program more engaging and effective for men.
