New blood test may help Fine-Tune diabetes treatment faster

NCT ID NCT05227677

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looked at whether using a blood marker called glycated albumin (GA) to guide diabetes treatment works better than the usual HbA1c test. 200 adults newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes were split into two groups: one where doctors used GA levels to adjust medication, and another where they followed standard guidelines. The goal was to see if the GA-guided group achieved better blood sugar control after 12 weeks.
