First seen Mar 01, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study tests whether a sugar called L-fucose can improve movement problems in adults with GLUT1 deficiency syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that affects brain energy. Sixteen participants will receive both the supplement and a placebo in random order, without knowing which they are taking. The goal is to see if fucose reduces symptoms like unsteadiness and coordination issues.
