Gentler muscle technique beats quick thrust for frozen shoulder relief

NCT ID NCT07600372

First seen May 20, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tested two hands-on treatments for frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis) in 66 adults aged 40-65. One group got quick thrusts to the joint, the other got a gentle muscle relaxation technique. Both reduced pain and improved shoulder motion over four weeks, but the muscle energy technique worked significantly better. The goal was to ease symptoms, not cure the condition.
