Doctors test new tool to spot confusion in elderly patients

NCT ID NCT01775982

Summary

This study tested a French version of a tool called the Confusion Assessment Method (CAM) to see how well it can diagnose confusion (delirium) in older adults. Researchers compared the tool's results against a psychiatrist's expert diagnosis in 102 hospitalized elderly patients. The goal was to see if this French version is accurate and reliable for doctors to use in hospitals and clinics.
