Study warns childhood cancer survivors may age prematurely

NCT ID NCT02256137

Summary

This study aims to understand why many young adults who survived childhood cancer experience early signs of aging and frailty, which can lead to serious health problems later in life. Researchers will follow over 1,500 survivors for five years, measuring their physical fitness and health to identify who is most at risk. The goal is to find early warning signs so future interventions can be developed to help survivors stay healthier longer.
