Frailty may predict death risk in younger septic shock patients
NCT ID NCT05928767
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study looks at whether frailty (a measure of physical weakness) raises the risk of death in adults aged 18 to 65 who are in the intensive care unit (ICU) for septic shock, a severe infection that drops blood pressure. Researchers will track 200 patients to see if those with higher frailty scores are more likely to die within 28 days, even after accounting for other risk factors. The goal is to help doctors better predict outcomes and guide conversations with patients and families about care and recovery.
