Food as medicine: tailored meals may cut heart failure readmissions
NCT ID NCT06115369
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study looked at whether giving heart failure patients healthy food—either medically tailored meals or fresh produce boxes—for 90 days after a hospital stay could reduce emergency visits and readmissions. It also tested if providing food only when patients attended follow-up visits or took their medications worked better than giving it freely. The goal was to see if food support can improve health and engagement in managing heart failure.
