Scientists search for the hidden roots of food allergies

NCT ID NCT01832324

Summary

This study aims to understand the biological and genetic reasons why some people develop food allergies and why many children outgrow them. Researchers will collect blood samples from about 5,300 participants, including people with food allergies and healthy family members, to analyze immune cells and genes. The goal is to uncover the basic science behind food allergies, which could inform future treatments, but this study itself does not test a cure or new therapy.
