Summary

This study aims to see if helping families afford healthy food can prevent obesity in young children. Researchers will give 228 families $50 per week for one year, either as cash or as groceries with expert guidance, to see which approach better supports a healthy weight. The goal is to understand how food assistance programs can most effectively improve children's long-term health.
