Sound waves target brain to treat untreatable OCD

NCT ID NCT06131502

Summary

This study is testing whether focused ultrasound can safely reduce symptoms of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) in people who haven't improved with standard treatments like therapy and medications. Researchers will use MRI-guided sound waves to target a specific brain area without surgery. The trial involves 66 adults with moderate to severe OCD who will receive either the real ultrasound treatment or a sham procedure to compare results.
