First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study tests whether low-intensity focused ultrasound can help people with severe brain injury who have not fully regained consciousness. Researchers will measure changes in behavior and brain activity after the ultrasound sessions, and also interview family members about their hopes and concerns. The goal is to see if this non-invasive technique can improve recovery and guide future care.
