Precision radiation for prostate cancer shows promise in small trial
NCT ID NCT01902680
First seen Apr 18, 2026 · Last updated May 04, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tested a new way to treat low-risk prostate cancer by placing tiny radioactive seeds only in the tumor area, not the whole prostate. 18 men with early-stage cancer received this focal therapy. The main goal was to see if the radiation dose could be delivered accurately to the target. This approach aims to control the cancer while potentially reducing side effects compared to standard treatments.
