Poop pills fight superbugs in scarred livers

Summary
This large trial is testing whether taking capsules containing processed stool from healthy donors can help people with advanced liver scarring (cirrhosis) avoid serious infections that lead to hospital stays. About 300 participants will take either the real capsules or placebo pills every three months for up to two years, without knowing which they receive. The main goal is to see if this treatment can reduce the time until a patient's first infection requiring emergency care.
