Could a poop pill boost biologic therapy for ulcerative colitis?

NCT ID NCT05327790

First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding a freeze-dried fecal transplant (LFMT) to standard biologic drugs (vedolizumab or ustekinumab) is safe and helps more people with ulcerative colitis reach remission. About 40 adults with active UC will receive either LFMT or a placebo alongside their biologic. The main goal is to check for serious side effects and see if the combination improves symptoms.
