New scan may predict cancer treatment success
NCT ID NCT01235052
First seen May 17, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a special PET scan called FMISO can help predict how well head and neck cancer patients respond to treatment. Sixteen adults with this cancer received the scan before starting radiation therapy. The goal was to see if the scan's results matched their health two years later. The study did not test a new treatment, but aimed to improve how doctors plan radiation therapy.
