Oxygen-Sensing scan may predict cancer treatment success
NCT ID NCT01235052
First seen May 17, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026
Summary
This study looked at whether a special PET scan called FMISO can measure oxygen levels in head and neck tumors. Sixteen adults with head and neck cancer received the scan before starting radiation therapy. Researchers then checked if the scan results matched how well the cancer responded two years later. The goal was to see if FMISO PET could help doctors better plan treatment.
