New ultrasound test could better spot dangerous fluid buildup in dialysis patients

NCT ID NCT07178470

Summary

This study aims to find the best way to detect fluid overload, a common and serious problem for people on home dialysis. Researchers will compare three methods: a short symptom survey, a standard physical exam by a doctor, and a quick, non-invasive lung ultrasound. The goal is to see which method is most reliable for catching this condition early in 90 adult patients receiving home dialysis.
