NCT ID NCT03502460
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study tested whether a lung ultrasound can detect early signs of fluid overload in patients during surgery. Doctors gave fluids to 200 adults having various surgeries and used ultrasound to look for changes in the lungs. The goal was to see if the ultrasound matches standard methods for deciding when to stop giving fluids. The approach is non-invasive and could help prevent complications from too much fluid.
