Heart surgery fluid showdown: which one saves kidneys?

Summary
This study aims to find out which of two common IV fluids is safer for the kidneys when given during major heart surgery. It will compare a starch-based fluid with a standard saltwater solution in about 1,300 patients. The main goal is to see which fluid leads to fewer serious kidney problems, deaths, or need for dialysis after surgery.
