ICU trial aims to Fine-Tune fluid balance to save lives
NCT ID NCT04801784
Summary
This study tested a method to keep fluid levels balanced in critically ill patients with failing kidneys who are on continuous dialysis. Researchers carefully matched the rate of fluid removal by the dialysis machine to the rate of fluids given to the patient, using advanced heart monitors to ensure safety. The goal was to see if this precise control could improve survival and reduce complications like low blood pressure or prolonged organ failure.
