Scientists create 'Fake Flu' in noses to study real infections

NCT ID NCT04164212

Summary

This study used a nasal spray flu vaccine to create a temporary, mild 'flu-like' situation in healthy volunteers' noses. Researchers collected samples from 33 adults to measure how the body responds to influenza viruses and inflammation. The goal was to develop a safe model for studying flu infections without exposing people to actual illness.
