Your flu shot could help shape next Year's vaccine: study collects blood samples

NCT ID NCT04551677

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study collected blood samples from 90 healthy children (6 months to under 9 years) and adults 65 and older who received the 2020-2021 flu vaccine. The samples were taken before and after vaccination and sent to experts at the WHO, CDC, and FDA to help decide which flu strains to include in future vaccines. The study did not test any new treatment—it simply gathered data to support better flu shot recommendations.
