Flu shot tested as secret weapon to calm heart attack damage
NCT ID NCT06336317
Summary
This study is testing if getting a flu shot right after a heart attack can help reduce harmful inflammation in the heart's arteries. Researchers will compare a real flu vaccine to a placebo (saltwater shot) in 90 recent heart attack patients. They will use special heart scans and blood tests to see if the vaccine lowers inflammation and might help protect the heart from future problems.
