New brain stent aims to seal off dangerous aneurysms

NCT ID NCT05774782

Summary

This study tested a new medical device called a flow diverter stent for treating wide-necked brain aneurysms. The stent is placed inside the blood vessel to divert blood flow away from the aneurysm, aiming to seal it off and prevent rupture. Researchers followed 143 adults in China for one year to see if the device was safe and effective at completely closing the aneurysm without causing major strokes.
