New PET scan could spot dangerous artery inflammation after heart attacks

NCT ID NCT06091319

First seen May 05, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a special dye called Florbetaben, used with a PET scan, can detect inflamed plaque in the arteries of people who recently had a heart attack or stroke. About 30 participants will receive the dye and undergo imaging to see if it highlights areas of inflammation. The goal is to improve detection of unstable plaque that could cause future events.
